Report: Karim Benzema fit for Clasico

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is expected to be fit to face Barcelona in El Clasico at the weekend.

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema will reportedly be fit to face Barcelona at the weekend.

The Frenchman picked up a thigh injury in the 1-0 win over Malaga last Saturday, with initial reports claiming that he would miss the La Liga Clasico at the Bernabeu.

However, according to AS, the swelling surrounding the area has now eased, with Benzema due to return to first-team training later this week.

Benzema missed last night's Champions League last-16 second leg against Schalke 04, where his side booked their spot in the quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over the German outfit.
