Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Osasuna

Sports Mole rounds up all of Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's La Liga clash with Osasuna.

Real Madrid can take another giant step towards the La Liga title when they travel to meet Osasuna on Wednesday evening.

Carlo Ancelotti's side left it late to get the better of Sevilla 3-2 on Sunday evening, as Karim Benzema struck the winner in second-half stoppage time following earlier efforts from Rodrygo and Nacho Fernandez.

Los Blancos now sit 15 points clear of second-placed Barcelona at the top of the table having played a gam more, and the Catalans failed to close that gap with defeat to Cadiz on Monday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Osasuna.

Eden Hazard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Leg
Possible return date: Unknown

The injury-plagued Eden Hazard recently underwent an operation to remove an osteosynthesis plate on his right fibula, and he is expected to spend at least one more week on the sidelines.

Jesus Vallejo

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: COVID-19
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Osasuna)

Nine days will have passed since the announcement of Jesus Vallejo's positive COVID-19 test by the time Wednesday's game rolls around, but the defender is highly unlikely to be considered for any minutes even if he has made an expected recovery.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: Unknown

Ferland Mendy was absent from the win over Sevilla after suffering a small muscular tear in his adductor, and the left-back will likely remain sidelined until the end of the month.

Marcelo

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Osasuna)

Marcelo's own adductor contracture also kept him out of the weekend's victory, but the Brazilian's issue is not as serious, and he could come into contention for a place in the squad this week.

Dani Ceballos

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: COVID-19
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Osasuna)

Fringe midfielder Dani Ceballos tested positive for COVID-19 last week, and the Spaniard remains doubtful for the meeting with Osasuna after being ruled out of the Sevilla victory.

Luka Jovic

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Dental
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Osasuna)

Luka Jovic missed out on a place in the squad against Sevilla after having his wisdom teeth taken out, but the striker is expected to recover in time for Wednesday's game.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Real Madrid have no players back from this match, with Casemiro back from a ban served in the win over Sevilla.
