Eusebio Sacristan: 'I will not let fans down'

New Real Sociedad boss Eusebio Sacristan vows to bring the good times back to the Basque club after becoming their new manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

New Real Sociedad boss Eusebio Sacristan has insisted that he will 'not let the fans down' after being appointed as the Basque outfit's new head coach.

Eusebio, who managed Barcelona B from 2011 to 2015, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Sociedad, replacing the outgoing David Moyes, who lasted just over 12 months.

"I appreciate the confidence placed in me. I'm not going to let [the fans] down. It makes me very excited to be able to coach this team," Eusebio told reporters.

"The club have a philosophy and values which I fully share. I fully identify with them. We have a big squad, brimming with quality, and we must work together to get out of this situation and be able to experience very special moments.

"I'm filled with hope and joy. It's a great club through its history, philosophy and youth development. It's a great joy. I like to enjoy my job, particularly the responsibility and the balance, and in order to be successful, we must get things right."

Sociedad have only won two of their 11 league games so far this season.
