Report: Emmanuel Adebayor heading for UAE

A report claims that experienced forward Emmanuel Adebayor is closing in on a move to United Arab Emirates club Al-Wasl.

Emmanuel Adebayor is reportedly closing in on a move to United Arab Emirates club Al-Wasl.

The former Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace forward came close to joining Lyon in the summer, only for the French club to drop their interest at the final moment.

According to L'Equipe, the 32-year-old has agreed terms with Al-Wasl and will complete a move to the UAE outfit before their transfer window slams shut at midnight tonight.

Adebayor is currently a free agent after leaving Palace at the end of last season following the expiration of his contract.

Last month, Sunderland boss David Moyes claimed that the Black Cats turned down the chance to sign the experienced striker in the summer transfer window.
