Franco di Santo sees red as Werder Bremen lose to Eintracht Frankfurt

Franco di Santo is sent off in the first half, with his Werder Bremen teammates going on to lose 3-0 to Frankfurt.

Werder Bremen striker Franco di Santo saw red before watching his teammates fall to a 3-0 home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frankfurt got off to a fine start and went ahead before 15 minutes were up. Vaclav Kadlec reacted quickest to Bastian Oczipka's cross to tap in from close range.

Things got worse for the hosts after just 25 minutes as full-debutant Di Santo was given a straight red for a nasty high boot.

Frankfurt took full advantage less than 10 minutes later as Kadlec added his second with a header from a Sebastian Jung cross.

Bremen started to resort to shots from range and although Cedrick Makiadi came close with his they were unable to get their efforts on target.

It was Werder's Sebastian Prodl who put the nail in his own side's coffin with an own goal inside the final 15 minutes.
