The Football Association confirms that Harry Kane does not weigh 98kg after another gaffe involving the England captain, this time relating to administrative details sent to FIFA.

The Football Association has confirmed that Harry Kane does not weigh 98kg following another gaffe involving the England captain.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker was listed as the joint-second heaviest footballer heading to the World Cup, alongside compatriot Harry Maguire and Denmark defender Jannik Vestergaard.

According to the Daily Mail, the FA admitted that the figure was an administrative error, with Kane actually weighing 89kg.

The FA was forced to apologise in April for a tweet mocking Kane following Tottenham's FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United.

Its Twitter account posed the question: "What's in your pocket, Chris?" — and linked a video of United defender Chris Smalling saying: "Harry Kane".

The heaviest player at the World Cup this summer is said to be Roman Torres of Panama, with figures given to FIFA saying that the player weighs 99kg.
