Salford Red Devils have climbed to fourth in the Super League table after thrashing Widnes Vikings 36-8 in this evening's clash at the AJ Bell Stadium.
The hosts opened the scoring after just three minutes when a grubber kick by Rangi Chase went to Ben Jones-Bishop, who was able to touch down before Josh Griffin converted.
It would get better for the hosts as a Michael Dobson kick in the 12th minute was found by Weller Hauraki, who crossed for his side's second try of the night.
Greg Johnson then touched down on the half-hour mark to put the Red Devils even further ahead, but a late flurry from Vikings, comprising of a Paddy Flynn try and a conversion and a penalty by Jack Owens, ensured a half-time score of 16-8.
Any hope of a second-half comeback from the visitors was soon snuffed out when Lama Tasi crossed over in the 46th minute, before the hosts went on to run riot thanks to further tries from Griffin, Cory Paterson and Scott Taylor.
