Andy Murray eases into Cincinnati Masters final with victory over Milos Raonic

Wimbledon champion and Rio Olympic gold medallist Andy Murray sees off Milos Raonic 6-3 6-3 to reach the final of the 2016 Cincinnati Masters.

Andy Murray has reached his seventh successive final with a commanding victory over Milos Raonic at the 2016 Cincinnati Masters on Saturday.

The 29-year-old Scot beat his Canadian opponent 6-3 6-3 in less than 90 minutes to seal his 22nd successive win - the longest winning run of his career.

In a match affected by heavy rain and misting, Raonic double-faulted twice as Murray registered a break in the opening game and again in the ninth to clinch the first set.

The second set went on serve until the eighth game, when Raonic committed another double fault, chose not to lob a volley that fell within the baseline and netted a forehand on break point.

Murray was guilty of several mistakes in closing out the match but was able to execute a drop-volley to end it on his third match point.

The Wimbledon champion and Olympic double gold medallist will play Croatia's Marin Cilic, who beat Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 4-6 6-3 7-5 in Sunday's final.
