Baltimore Ravens hire Marc Trestman as offensive coordinator

The Baltimore Ravens announce that they have hired former Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman as their new offensive coordinator.

The Baltimore Ravens have confirmed that they have hired Marc Trestman as their new offensive coordinator.

The Ravens lost their coordinator when Gary Kubiak left the club to become the new head coach of the Denver Broncos after just one season with the club.

However, John Harbaugh moved quickly to appoint Trestman, who was fired as the head coach of the Chicago Bears at the end of the season, to replace Kubiak at M&T Bank Stadium.

Trestman has admitted that he can't wait to get to work with Harbaugh and general manager Ozzie Newsome along with the offensive players at the Ravens.

"I'm sure we'll talk about different types of players, but ultimately it's our job to coach the guys that Ozzie and John and our personnel department bring in," Trestman told the club's official website.

"And I'm going to be excited to coach and develop whoever those guys are and certainly the guys that are there presently."

Trestman had a successful spell as offensive coordinator of the Oakland Raiders in 2002 as he helped guide the Raiders to the Super Bowl.
