The Seattle Seahawks have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with defensive end Michael Bennett for him to remain at the club.
The 28-year-old was poised to become a free agent when the league year begins on Tuesday, but the team and Bennett agreed terms on a new four-year contract to keep him in Seattle until the conclusion of the 2017 season.
Bennett wrote on Twitter: "I'm back I'm happy Super Bowl champ. The 12th man is the biggest reason I came back, the best fans."
Bennett recorded 31 tackles and 8.5 sacks for the Seahawks, as they won the Super Bowl for the first time in their history.
