Stoyka Petrova seeking Nicola Adams revenge at Rio 2016

Bulgaria's Stoyka Petrova claims that repeatedly facing Nicola Adams at the last-eight stage of major tournaments is "not good for boxing".

Beaten European Games quarter-finalist Stoyka Petrova has warned Great Britain's Nicola Adams that their rivalry is not yet over.

The Bulgarian flyweight suffered a ninth defeat in 10 bouts against the reigning Olympic champion, with three of those losses coming at the last-eight stage of major competitions.

Baku 2015 has now been added to a list containing London 2012 and Bucharest 2014 as events Adams has prevailed in against Petrova, but the 29-year-old is already eyeing revenge at next year's Olympic Games in Rio.

"My opinion is that I should have met this opponent in the final," she told reporters. "In every big championships we meet in the quarter-finals and this is not good for boxing.

"It is not my decision about whether there should be seeding. I am a boxer not an official. I hope to have my revenge at the Olympics in Rio. My goal is to be the champion there."

Adams will face Turkey's Elif Coskun in the flyweight semis on Wednesday afternoon.
