Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Wednesday.

Chelsea head into Wednesday evening's fixture with Arsenal looking to move another step closer to claiming a top-four spot in the Premier League standings.

Having come from behind to defeat Manchester City on Saturday evening, the Blues now sit in third position ahead of Leicester City.

However, as well as managing his over-worked squad, Thomas Tuchel continues to contend with key players spending time in the treatment room.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of playing host to the Gunners at Stamford Bridge.

Mateo Kovacic

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Arsenal)

Tuchel revealed last week that he was hopeful that Kovacic could return to the squad for the Arsenal fixture. However, having spent a number of weeks on the sidelines, do not expect to see the Croatian named in the starting lineup.

Andreas Christensen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Christensen was forced off with a hamstring injury just before the half-time whistle at the Etihad Stadium. Given how the Dane was helped off the pitch, the centre-back could be in a race against time to recover for the Champions League final on May 29.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for this match.
