Manchester City are ready to offer striker Edin Dzeko to Liverpool as a makeweight in a £50m deal to sign Raheem Sterling this summer, according to a report.
The Citizens are among several teams interested in signing the England international after the player's agent revealed that he had no intention of agreeing a new deal with the Reds.
City are attempting to make themselves frontrunners by offering Dzeko to Brendan Rodgers's side, who are said to be eyeing a move for a top-class striker in the summer.
Manuel Pellegrini's men are optimistic that the offer of cash along with the Bosnia international will be enough to secure the signature of Sterling ahead of Arsenal, reports The People.
Rodgers has claimed that he expects Sterling to see out the remaining two years of his contract at Liverpool.
