Arsenal are reportedly considering a £33.1m bid for Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Larsson in January, with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also keen on the midfielder.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in submitting a January bid for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough term in Germany last year after securing a high-profile switch from Swedish giants Malmo over the summer of 2023.

After finding the net on two occasions during his debut term for Eintracht Frankfurt, Larsson has progressed significantly, scoring three times and providing one assist across 15 competitive appearances so far in 2024-25.

The midfielder also possesses relative international pedigree, having represented Sweden alongside the likes of Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres.

Since joining Eintracht Frankfurt - who currently lie third in the Bundesliga standings - Larsson has featured in 53 matches, making the net ripple on five occasions.

Arsenal plotting £33m swoop for Larsson amid Liverpool, Tottenham fondness?

According to CaughtOffside, Larsson's successful stay at Eintracht Frankfurt could be reaching its conclusion just 18 months after his arrival from Malmo.

The report claims that Premier League giants Arsenal are extremely keen on the 20-year-old, who has started eight of his side's nine Bundesliga fixtures this season.

It is understood that the Gunners are considering a €40m (£33.1m) bid for Larsson in January in order to test the resolve of the German club.

However, it is highly likely that Arsenal's opening approach for the midfielder would be rejected, with Eintracht Frankfurt supposedly demanding up to €80m (£66.2m) for the player.

As well as Mikel Arteta's troops, Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be very interested in acquiring the services of Larsson.

Larsson to make immediate impact at Emirates?

Playing just the single minute of club football since August 31, Martin Odegaard has been a major miss for Arsenal as they fight for their first English crown in two decades.

The Norwegian provides constant creativity from the Gunners engine room, something that has been painfully lacking in recent matches while the 25-year-old recovers from injury.

For the first time this season, Arsenal lost back-to-back games over the past week to Newcastle United and Inter Milan, failing to find the net in either contest.

The arrival of Larsson would provide Arteta with a classy option in midfield who could replicate some of Odegaard's tricks, although the Swede is unlikely to fix all of the Gunners' attacking issues.
