Monaco sign 19-year-old left-back Kassoum Ouattara from Ligue 2 side Amiens on a five-year contract until the summer of 2028.

Monaco have announced the signing of 19-year-old left-back Kassoum Ouattara from Ligue 2 side Amiens.

The 2004-born defender joins the Principality side on a five-year contract until the summer of 2028, and Monaco are believed to have paid around €2m (£1.7m) for his services.

A former member of the US Ivry and FC Montrouge youth teams, Ouattara signed for Amiens' academy in 2020 and was promoted to the club's senior team two years later.

The left-back turned out on 12 occasions for the Amiens first team in the 2022-23 season, playing 11 times in the second tier and also coming off the bench in a Coupe de France third-round loss to Thaon.

Ouattara also started each of Amiens' opening 10 games of the 2023-24 Ligue 2 campaign, and he made his debut for France's Under-20s in a 2-2 friendly draw with Denmark last month.

The teenager arrives at the Stade Louis II following Caio Henrique's ACL injury, which saw the Brazilian undergo surgery at the start of October, while Vanderson is also struggling with a knee problem.

Monaco occupy third place in the Ligue 1 table with 20 points from 10 matches and are next in action at home to Brest on Sunday afternoon.
