Santiago Arias has said that he is expecting to 'go to war' with Atletico Madrid following his move to the Spanish giants from PSV Eindhoven.
Arias, who represented Colombia at the 2018 World Cup, sealed a move to Atletico last week, with the defender signing a five-year contract at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The 26-year-old will rival Juanfran for the right-back position following Sime Vrsaljko's loan exit to Inter Milan, and has revealed that he cannot wait to get started under Atletico boss Diego Simeone.
"I've been told that here it is like a war and that you must fight right until the end. I know the qualities of this team, how they play, and also the coach, and I like that too," Arias told reporters. "This is a big club where I can learn a lot of things, both from the coach and the players."
Arias joined PSV from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2013, and won three league titles during his time in Dutch football.
