Atletico Madrid announce the signing of PSV Eindhoven right-back Santiago Arias and the departure of Sime Vrsaljko on loan to Inter Milan.

Atletico Madrid have announced the signing of Colombia right-back Santiago Arias from PSV Eindhoven on a five-year deal.

The 26-year-old was named Eredivisie Player of the Season last term after helping PSV win their 24th Dutch title.

Arias made 173 appearances for the Netherlands giants, scoring 10 goals and providing 21 assists, and has also won 45 caps for Los Cafeteros.

Atleti confirmed the deal on Tuesday night, shortly after announcing that Sime Vrsaljko had sealed a loan move to Inter Milan.

The Serie A side will retain an option to purchase the Croatia right-back at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Vrsaljko, 26, spent two seasons with Atleti and returns to Serie A following his time at Genoa and Sassuolo.
