Atletico Madrid sign Diogo Jota on five-year deal

Atletico Madrid sign Portuguese midfielder Diogo Jota on a five-year deal from Pacos de Ferreira.

Atletico Madrid have signed Portuguese midfielder Diogo Jota on a five-year deal from Pacos de Ferreira.

The 19-year-old, who scored 12 times in the Portuguese top flight last season, will begin first-team training with his new club on Thursday in the Spanish capital.

"He is a young player, very fast and vertical, carries the ball very well and has a great outrun. Diogo has a great projection and stands out for his one-on-one and his versatility, because he can play in several positions," Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Caminero told the club's official website.

Jota is the second new arrival at the Vicente Calderon this week following the signing of Sime Vrsaljko from Sassuolo.
