Tuesday's Barcelona transfer talk news roundup: Andre Onana, Lionel Messi, Memphis Depay

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Barcelona on Tuesday, September 8.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Barcelona eye possible reinforcements.

The Spanish champions spent big on Antoine Griezmann last summer but missed out on a big-name striker in January and have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, meaning that selling players rather than buying could be their priority this summer.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news from the Camp Nou.

Tuesday morning's Barcelona transfer talk news roundup:

Chelsea offered Ajax keeper Andre Onana?

Chelsea have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer.

Frank Lampard's side have already been the busiest club in the transfer market so far, spending more than £200m to bring in seven players despite the financial knock-on effect of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, they are still thought to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper after Kepa Arrizabalaga recorded the lowest save percentage in the Premier League last season.

The Blues have been linked with the likes of Edouard Mendy, Sergio Romero, Mike Maignan, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Jan Oblak, and the Evening Standard reports that they have also been offered Onana.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper has previously been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain courtesy of his performances for Ajax.

Onana made 39 appearances across all competitions last season, keeping 15 clean sheets.

Lyon chief confirms Barcelona interest in Memphis Depay

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Barcelona are one of two sides interested in signing attacking midfielder Memphis Depay.

The Dutchman has been touted as a target for the La Liga giants since Ronald Koeman stepped down as Netherlands boss to take over at Camp Nou.

Depay has less than a year to run on his contract and recently admitted that he could be tempted by a move away from Lyon this summer.

Barca have yet to make an offer for the 26-year-old, however, and they now face competition from Serie A side Roma.

"Memphis's contract is expiring," Aulas told Telefoot. "Koeman wants him at Barcelona, but there is also Roma in for the player."

Depay started the new Ligue 1 campaign in sensational form by netting a hat-trick on his first appearance in last month's 4-1 win over Dijon.
