Of course Barcelona had much more of the ball but they didn't do an awful lot with it. Messi had one of the quietest nights I think I've ever seen him have.

Poor, poor Celtic.

Barcelona 2-1 Celtic

We're into the last minute of stoppage time and all Celtic's hard work is undone. Adriano drifts over a cross and Alba's at the back post to get the faintest of touches with his studs. Heartbreak.

GOAL! BARCA SNATCH IT! JORDI ALBA!

Four minutes were added on by the way.

Celtic are nearly there!

OFF THE POST! Villa has a shot from just inside the area and it bounces off the post!

Hooper has a chance to break but he wastes it and back come Barca...

This is going to be a nerve-wracking five minutes or so for Celtic. Alba breaks into the area but a combination of Ambrose and Wanyama prevent a cross.

Deary me! Xavi decides to have a go from distance and that's almost gone out of the Camp Nou!

Wanyama is OK to continue and that's a boost for the Bhoys as he is one of the more destructive players in a green-and-white shirt.

Celtic have made all their changes and Wanyama is down injured. He's getting taken off on a small vehicle, which is quite strange, can he make it through the final five or so?

CHANCE! Tello stands up a cross but Song can't keep his header down from six yards.

Iniesta almost creeps through but Ambrose's big tackle stops the diminutive Spaniard.

Another Barca change sees David Villa come on for Alexis.

Manchester United have completed a two-goal turnaround and now lead at home to Braga thanks to Javier Hernandez.

Superb defending from Izaguirre to stop Tello and prevent a corner.

Changes for both sides as Tello replaces Pedro and Mulgrew is taken off for Kayal, who will offer some strength in midfield.

WHAT A SAVE! Iniesta scoops over for Messi but his header is stopped by the acrobatic Forster.

CHANCE! Xavi stops Forrest breaking away and that leads to Alba scooping over the top for Alexis who is denied by the seemingly invincible Forster.

Around 20 minutes left for the Hoops to hold on and maybe snatch a winner.

First caution of the match for Mascherano for bringing down Forrest.

First sign of desperation from Barca? Pedro is under no real pressure about 25 yards out and has a pop. It's blocked.

Messi has a bit of space to run and he gets into the area before being superbly tackled by a sliding Wilson. Love that.

CHANCE! Alexis and Pedro unlock the Celtic defence and the latter squares for Messi who is brilliantly denied by the big frame of Forster.

Messi is trying his luck a bit wider on the right and he cuts inside and feeds Iniesta but once again the shot is into the hands of Forster.

Xavi flicks for Messi on the edge but his shot is straight at Forster.

Ambrose gets a block in from Messi's curler. The little Argentinian continues to be thwarted.

GOALS! United have pulled it back to 2-2 against Braga but Chelsea are now 2-0 down in Donetsk.

And Commons is straight into the action as he beats one down the right but can't find Forrest with his cross.

First substitution for Celtic as Commons replaces Brown.

Thinking about it, a certain Mr Messi really hasn't done much tonight as he is again dispossessed.

Hooper looks to have shouldered out Mascherano fairly but the Argentine buys a free kick with a dive. Unpleasant.

Wanyama steals the ball and breaks up the pitch and it's two-on-two but the big midfielder wastes the chance of a counter. Celtic will have openings on the break.

Good pressure from Celtic ends in an Izaguirre cross just about getting to safety.

The short corner is played to Adriano but his long-range effort is straight at Forster.

Pedro gets to the byline but Wilson denies his cross and it's a corner.

CHANCE! It's a great corner from Mulgrew and Ledley makes some contact before it hits Wanyama and bounces wide. Hardly a challenge from a Barca player there.

Lustig's cross is blocked and Celtic have a corner. They've looked dangerous from set pieces so far...

Forrest has given Celtic some pace down the right but he doesn't get a free kick this time under challenge from Alba.

Rubbish effort from the lefty that barely gets halfway up the wall. Izaguirre has a follow-up attempt but he slices horribly wide.

Celtic have a free kick on the edge, right of centre. We had Messi territory earlier but this is definitely Mulgrew territory. Big chance.

Alexis sends in a cross and the crowd appeal for handball. No chance.

No changes for either side at the break.

The players are back out and the second half is underway.

Amazingly, Celtic are the only one of the three British sides in action tonight that aren't losing! United are down at home to Braga while Chelsea are struggling in Ukraine.

Celtic almost shot themselves in the foot on many occasions but in all honesty they could have done nothing about the goal. Pure magic.

Talk about a suckerpunch eh? Celtic were so close to getting to half-time in front but for Iniesta's wizardry. Samaras having to go off is also a massive blow for the Bhoys as his combative style was irking the Catalonians.

Barcelona 1-1 Celtic

That is simply sublime from Barca. Messi fizzes into Iniesta, who then feeds Xavi before the ball is returned to the Euro 2012 player of the tournament. He takes one touch then finds the corner under plenty of pressure. Magnificent.

GOAL! INIESTA EQUALISES! 1-1!

Samaras is going to have to go off and he'll be replaced by James Forrest.

Mulgrew floats it to the back and Ambrose heads back for Wanyama, whose acrobatic effort is blocked. Celtic look dangerous from set pieces.

Samaras will have to go off for the resulting free kick and that's bad news for Celtic.

Samaras is fouled when challenging in the air and the Greek forward, who's been in great form so far, is in pain.

Alba gets in behind Lustig but can't dig out a cross. The young left-back is such a good overlapper.

He loves a set piece this boy! Messi goes for the other corner this time and again it's just over.

Wanyama dispossesses Iniesta and finds Hooper but the striker's pass is wayward and soon Barca have another free kick about 28 yards out. Leo wants...

Celtic have their first sustained spell of possession but it's ended when Lustig fizzes into Hooper. Barca go up the other end and Xavi can't get his volley on target. 10 minutes until the interval.

Adriano has a go from range but he's not going to beat Forster at his near post like that. Well held.

Celtic aren't helping themselves here. They're trying to pass their way out of defence but there's no one there to collect and the ball just keeps coming back.

Iniesta looks to find Xavi with a reverse pass but it deflects to Forster and that's another minute gone for Celtic. One hour of football left to hold on!

Adriano sends over a dangerous cross that results in a corner before Bartra yet again has a free header but can't get good, solid contact on the ball.

GOAL in Manchester and Javier Hernandez has pulled one back for United. They're still trailing 2-1.

Samaras is having a great game tonight! The big greek goes past a couple of Barca challenges before needlessly pushing Song over.

Ambrose just prevents Alexis getting in on goal. Barca pressing for the equaliser, obviously.

Messi's free kick curls just over Forster's crossbar. Great effort.

GOALS! Man Utd are 2-0 down to Braga at home and Bayern are one up at Lille.

Barca have a free kick on the edge. Messi territory.

Mulgrew curls over the free kick and Samaras gets a nick on it before Mascherano inadvertently heads into his own net! Ridiculous!

GOAL! CELTIC LEAD! UNBELIEVABLE!

CHANCE! Messi clips over the top for Iniesta, who in turn volleys back for Bartra but his header is palmed away by Forster. Up the other end Celtic have a free kick in a dangerous position...

Corner to Barca as Lustig heads to safety.

Good challenge from European debutant Bartra to stop Samaras breaking clear.

Mulgrew and Samaras link up nicely down the left before Adriano manages to get a goal kick by playing it off Mulgrew. Better from the Bhoys.

Iniesta and Alexis try to get themselves out of a tight spot but for once their one-touch passing isn't quite good enough.

CHANCE! Alba gets down the outside of Alexis and crosses for Pedro at the back post but Izaguirre does well to oust the Spaniard.

Hooper tries to get in behind but Mascherano prevents the ball getting through to the Englishman.

Barca have a corner as Alba's flick is blocked by Anyama. The home players were appealing for handball but that was never going to get given.

GOALS! Man United are losing at home to Braga and so are Chelsea as they go behind in Donetsk! Not a good start for the two English teams.

CHANCE! Delightful through ball from Iniesta finds the run of Alexis. The Chilean dinks over Forster's feet but it's inches wide of the post.

Barca are predictably having all of the ball even though Celtic kicked off.

KICK OFF! We're underway in the Camp Nou.

Looks like Xavi won the toss with Brown and we're expected to stay at the preferred ends.

Here come the players out of the tunnel.

Although Lennon has selected two frontmen, Hooper and Samaras, the latter is expected to start on the right. Lethal finisher Hooper will hope to poach any sniff of a chance against the makeshift Barca backline.

10 minutes until kick off

The Celtic fans are high up in the Camp Nou and they're doing the Poznan in cracking harmony. Nice.

Although much of the home attack will go through the mighty Messi tonight, Pedro and Alexis provide plenty of pace from the wings.

15 minutes until kick off

More Lennon: "People have tried [stopping Messi] for the last seven or eight years so we're not too worried about targeting him."

Here's Lennon speaking to Sky Sports News: "You have to be disciplined and defend well. We'll have to weather periods of pressure but the players accept that."

It would be one of the greatest nights in the club's history if they did pull off a win but I can't see it happening. I wrote the match preview for this one and predicted a 4-0 Barca triumph. Sorry Hoops fans!

If anyone fancies a little flutter, Celtic are available at around 33/1! 33/1!

Bartra's inclusion is the first time that the 21-year-old has played under Tito Vilanova.

Tonight's referee is Gianluca Rocchi. You might recognise him as he's the man who was kicking the ball around in the rain in Warsaw for England vs. Poland last week.

There's two other British sides in action tonight, with Chelsea travelling to Ukraine for the first time to face Shakhtar Donestk and Manchester United hosting Portuguese outfit Braga.

Three points for Spartak moves them above Benfica to third in Group G. Barca are top with six points, while Celtic are second on four.

One game has already been played in Moscow and it's a surprise win for Spartak over Benfica. Click here to read our match report.

As with all the Champions League group nights, there's seven other games and I'll try and keep you updated on all the big goals and incidents.

Weather-wise, it's about 18 degrees and partly cloudy in Catalonia this evening.

Lennon thinks it's going to be a tough night for Barca, despite them being heavy favourites: "We have to play compact, with high intensity, very concentrated. It'll be a tough 90 minutes for us but it will be for them too."

Here's the Celtic bench: Zaluska, Matthews, Rogne, Commons, Kayal, Fedor, Forrest

It's a real tough task for Celtic to even snatch a point tonight as Barcelona are unbeaten in 17 home European ties, winning 14 and drawing three.

Here's the Barcelona bench this evening: Pinto, Montoya, Fabregas, Dos Santos, Sergi Roberto, Villa, Tello

The absence of the two Ps, Pique and Puyol, means that Javier Mascherano is joined by youngster Marc Bartra in the heart of defence. Alex Song, who has been playing in defence of late, moves forward to his more natural position of defensive midfield.

Neil Lennon's gone with two strikers then, interesting move from the Bhoys boss.

BREAKING TEAM NEWS!

Barcelona: Valdes, Adriano, Mascherano, Bartra, Jordi Alba; Song, Xavi, Iniesta; Pedro, Messi, Alexis

Celtic: Forster; Lustig, Wilson, Ambrose, Izaguirre; Brown, Wanyama, Ledley, Mulgrew; Samaras, Hooper

The other two teams in Group G, Spartak Moscow and Benfica, are currently playing in Russia and it's 2-1 to Spartak.

The last time these two sides met Barca came out on top 1-0 thanks to a Xavi Hernandez strike in the third minute.

Celtic will think that they have a decent chance of bagging a goal or two as Barca are notably weak at the back. Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique and Dani Alves aren't expected to feature while Sergio Busquets is suspended after his strange red card against Benfica.

Evening folks! Should be a cracker whatever the outcome tonight. Will Barca go crazy and obliterate the Scottish champions or can the Bhoys record an historic result?
