Bordeaux defender Lamine Sane and goalkeeper Jerome Prior have been suspended indefinitely by the club following a dressing-room incident after their Coupe de France exit on Wednesday night.
The Ligue 1 outfit crashed out at the last-16 stage of the competition courtesy of a dramatic 4-3 loss to Nantes after extra time.
Bordeaux had taken the lead in the added 30, but goals in the 114th and 118th minutes saw Nantes come from behind for the second time in the match to seal a place in the quarter-finals.
Bordeaux have now revealed that there was a "serious incident in the dressing room" after the match, which has resulted in both players being suspended by the club.
Sane was recently stripped of the captaincy following speculation linking him with a January move to the likes of Swansea City and Aston Villa.
Prior, meanwhile, has already missed time following an altercation with staff this season and was also involved in an angry exchange with fans in October.
With first-choice goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso currently sidelined through a long-term injury, Bordeaux may now have to rely on 18-year-old shot-stopper Paul Bernardoni to help them improve a run that has seen them concede 16 goals in their last five outings.
