Former Brighton & Hove Albion and Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has returned to management with Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.
The 49-year-old has been out of work since leaving Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua four months ago.
Poyet has been brought in to replace Jocelyn Gourvennec, who was sacked earlier this week following a dreadful run of form that had seen Les Girondins dragged into trouble.
However, victory over Nantes on Saturday afternoon - just their second in nine outings overall - has lifted Bordeaux up to 12th in the table, four points above the bottom three.
Ex-Tottenham Hotspur teammate Mauricio Taricco will assist Poyet at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux, along with Fernando Menegazzo.
