Saturday's Championship predictions including Brentford vs. Middlesbrough

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Championship fixtures, including Brentford vs. Middlesbrough.

Reading vs. Stoke (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Championship leaders Reading welcome Stoke City to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday afternoon having suffered back-to-back defeats.

Meanwhile, the Potters head into the fixture with the Royals sitting in 11th position after losing two of their last three games.

We say: Reading 1-2 Stoke City

With Reading now looking fragile in defence, a fixture with a physical Stoke side is far from ideal. Although the home side can only improve after Wednesday's defeat to Preston, we expect the visitors to battle their way to the three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Birmingham vs. Bournemouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Birmingham City welcome Bournemouth to St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon looking to bounce back from their surprise defeat to Wycombe Wanderers.

Despite recording just one victory from their last six Championship outings, the Cherries head into this contest sitting in fifth position in the table.

We say: Birmingham City 1-1 Bournemouth

Everything points to a low-scoring fixture taking place in the West Midlands this weekend. While the visitors will consider themselves to be favourites, they may struggle to break down a Blues side who will be more focused on defence than attack.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Blackburn vs. QPR (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackburn Rovers will be aiming to overtake Queens Park Rangers in the Championship table when the two teams meet on Saturday.

The Rs are currently two points ahead after beating Derby County 1-0 on Wednesday night, 24 hours after Blackburn drew 0-0 with Middlesbrough.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 1-2 Queens Park Rangers

Blackburn have a poor home record and QPR are not that great away, so something has to give here. Rovers' squad is really being stretched at the moment and an in-form Rangers could take advantage of that to head into the international break with three consecutive wins.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Brentford vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Saturday sees Middlesbrough travel to Brentford as two of the Championship's form teams meet at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Brentford come into this fixture having managed to salvage a 1-1 draw with fellow promotion hopefuls Swansea City, after a late Andre Ayew goal was ruled out in the dying seconds of the game.

Boro extended their unbeaten run to nine games - currently the longest undefeated run in England - with a 0-0 draw against Blackburn Rovers, a matchup in which they will feel aggrieved to have only taken a single point having dominated proceedings for long periods.

We say: Brentford 1-1 Middlesbrough

Both sides will be relishing the chance to get another win under their belts before they head into the international break, and much hinges on how well Boro's disciplined backline copes with Ivan Toney et al. If they can keep it tight, we expect Boro to come away with at least a point.

Brentford have been free-scoring this season, but have a tendency to offer chances up the other end, too. It is just a question of whether Boro can take them.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Derby vs. Barnsley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Derby County manager Phillip Cocu pictured on October 20, 2020© Reuters

Derby County play host to Barnsley in the Championship on Saturday afternoon with Phillip Cocu fighting to keep his job at Pride Park.

Meanwhile, after their defeat at Cardiff City, the Tykes make the trip to the East Midlands sitting just three points above the relegation zone.

We say: Derby County 1-2 Barnsley

While this game is effectively win or bust for Cocu, we feel that the Dutchman may still opt against throwing caution to the wind. That would only play into the favour of the visitors, who will relish the opportunity to heap further misery on the Rams.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Huddersfield vs. Luton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Huddersfield Town manager Carlos Corberan pictured in October 2020© Reuters

Luton Town will be looking to continue their impressive start to the Championship campaign when they travel to Huddersfield Town this weekend.

The Hatters returned to winning ways in midweek to climb up to ninth in the table, three points better off than Huddersfield, who have lost three of their last four.

We say: Huddersfield Town 1-2 Luton Town

Luton have won back-to-back away Championship matches, while Huddersfield have lost their last two games at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Hatters also took six points from six in this fixture last term, so we are backing them to keep their momentum going with another win in Yorkshire.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Norwich vs. Swansea (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two of the Championship's early promotion contenders go head to head in a fascinating clash on Saturday as Norwich City host Swansea City.

After 10 games played, the teams sit third and second in the table respectively and will know a win in this match would be a big statement of intent.

We say: Norwich City 1-1 Swansea City

This is certainly the game to keep an eye out for in the Championship over the weekend, and it is too close for us to call. Both teams will be keen to attack early on, but ultimately may decide that they do not want to risk losing and instead settle for a point.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Nott'm Forest vs. Wycombe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth pictured on September 7, 2019© Reuters

Wycombe Wanderers would move out of the Championship relegation zone for the first time since the opening day with victory against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Sitting 22nd in the table, the Chairboys are only two points below their 20th-placde opponents after turning their form around in recent weeks.

We say: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers

Both teams will be feeling confident after their midweek wins and it could be a tight contest despite the seeming gap in quality. We are going with a narrow Forest win, but Wycombe have surprised everyone lately so do not write them off completely.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Rotherham vs. Preston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Preston North End will be looking to continue their remarkable away form when they travel to Rotherham United on Saturday.

The Lilywhites won 3-0 at league leaders Reading on Wednesday night, while the Millers lost 1-0 at home to Luton Town.

We say: Rotherham United 1-2 Preston North End

It would seem foolish not to back Preston away from home at the moment, particularly after they smashed high-flying Reading in midweek. Rotherham are going through a rocky patch and will be thankful to get to the international break.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Sheff Weds vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk pictured on November 3, 2020© Reuters

Sheffield Wednesday will be aiming to finally build some momentum this weekend when they take on Millwall at Hillsborough.

The Owls brought an end to their winless run in midweek and were given another boost with news that their 12-point deduction has been halved.

Millwall are without a goal or a win in their last two outings, meanwhile, but they are just a point outside the playoff zone ahead of this match.

We say: Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Millwall

Wednesday may have picked up an important victory in midweek, but it has been 11 months since they last won back-to-back matches in the league.

Millwall are without a goal in their last two matches but have 10 points from their five away league games so far this term - only Preston North End have earned more (13) - so we are backing the Lions to edge this one.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Watford vs. Coventry (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Watford are looking to pick up back-to-back Championship victories for only the second time this season when they take on Coventry City at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

The Hornets ended a four-game winless run last time out and are fifth in the table, 10 points better off than lowly opponents Coventry, who have two wins from their 10 matches.

We say: Watford 2-0 Coventry City

These sides experienced contrasting emotions in midweek, with Watford earning a late victory against Stoke and Coventry losing to a last-gasp Forest penalty.

City have collected one point from a possible 15 on their travels this term, while Watford have 12 home points from 15, so we are backing a routine victory for the Hornets.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.
