Celtic manager Ronny Deila has insisted that Virgil van Dijk will not be leaving the club amid reports linking him with both Sunderland and Southampton.
The Dutch defender was missing from Celtic's matchday squad for their 1-1 draw with Dundee, leading to speculation that the 23-year-old is on his way out of Glasgow.
However, Deila rubbished the reports, telling BBC Sport: "[Van Dijk] is going to stay here and that's the most important thing.
"He is not here today because there has been a lot of speculation and his head has been thinking a lot.
"He also has a pregnant girlfriend so he was not 100% focused. We have other players who can do a better job."
Van Dijk, who joined from Groningen in 2013, won the Celtic Players' Player Of The Year award last season.
