Leigh Griffiths strike earns Celtic a point

Celtic are forced to come from a goal down to earn a point away to Dundee as Leigh Griffiths earns them a 1-1 draw.

Celtic were forced to come from a goal down to rescue a point away to Dundee in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon.

The home side took the lead as early as the sixth minute through James McPake and they nearly doubled their advantage on 12 minutes when Philip Roberts ran away from Emilio Izaguirre before slamming the ball against the cross bar.

Kyle Letheren made a full-stretch dive to deny Anthony Stokes on the stroke of half time, but the champions got their equaliser after the restart.

Substitute Leigh Griffiths struck an effort goalwards, and it took a deflection off Thomas Konrad to leave Letheren wrong-footed.

Martin Boyle then forced Craig Gordon into a save before Luka Tankulic flashed a 25-yard effort wide.

Both teams came close to winning goals late on, but Letheren saved a powerful Griffiths effort before Tankulic dragged a shot wide.
