Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has insisted that the Blues' impending signing of Alexandre Pato is "not a gamble".
The 26-year-old former AC Milan forward is poised to sign on loan from Brazilian club Corinthians until the end of the season and said that the move was a "dream come true".
When asked today if signing a player who has not played in Europe for three years and never in the Premier League was a risk, Hiddink told reporters: "It's not a gamble.
"Coming on loan makes it possible to have a good view on him, whether he is able to adapt to the high demands of the club and the league."
Hiddink also confirmed that the Blues would soon complete the signing of young defender Matt Miazga from New York Red Bulls.
