Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is hoping to remain at Stamford Bridge this summer, according to the player's agent Joao Santos.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is hoping to remain at Stamford Bridge this summer, according to the player's agent.

The 30-year-old was a first-team regular for the Blues last season, recording nine goals and four assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

However, the Italian's long-term future in West London is believed to be uncertain as he has now entered the final 12 months of his contract.

Nevertheless, Jorginho's agent Joao Santos claims that his client is keen to remain at Chelsea and put pen to paper on a new deal.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Santos said: "Chelsea are the priority (for Jorginho). His contract will expire in 2023, I think we will talk about the renewal from September".

Santos's comments come around three months after he claimed that Jorginho 'dreams' of returning to Serie A amid interest from the likes of Juventus, AC Milan and former club Napoli.

Jorginho is one of 10 Chelsea players who has just a year remaining on his contract, along with the likes of Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, N'Golo Kante and Ross Barkley.
