Without manager Dougie Freedman in the dugout, Crystal Palace extend their unbeaten run to nine games with a draw at Barnsley.

A late long-range strike from David Perkins rescued a point for Barnsley at home to Crystal Palace this evening.

Perkins found the top-left corner from 25 yards four minutes from time, after Glenn Murray had given the Eagles an early lead at Oakwell.

Palace announced earlier today that manager Dougie Freedman had agreed to join Bolton Wanderers.

The visiting players did not appear to be fazed by Freedman's absence and they broke the deadlock on 11 minutes.

Murray found the net for the eighth time this season when he tapped home Jonathan Parr's low left-footed cross from six yards following a patient piece of build-up play.

Joe Ward and Andre Moritz went close to doubling Palace's lead, before Perkins's curling effort against the run of play earned a point for the Tykes.

Palace, who are six points better off than Bolton, are unbeaten in the nine games in which Murray has featured this season.
