Galatasaray utility man Kevin Grosskreutz is reportedly ready to head home and join Hannover in January.
The 27-year-old has not played all season after the Turkish club failed to complete the paperwork for his transfer in time, and it is believed that the former Dortmund man is seeking a move away.
Liverpool have been linked with the German international in recent months but according to Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung, Hannover are ready to meet the €3m (£2.2m) asking price by using Mevlut Erding as a make-weight in the deal.
It is suggested that despite interest in joining former manager Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, Grosskreutz is more open to the idea of heading back to the Bundesliga.
Grosskreutz has represented Germany on five different occasions.
