Markus Gisdol remains confident that Hoffenheim can survive in the Bundesliga this season.

Hoffenheim's new coach Markus Gisdol has insisted that he is targeting survival in the Bundesliga for the club, despite their current position in the bottom two.

Gisdol, who replaced Marco Kurz earlier this week, said that he hopes his players can pick up the way he wants them to play as quickly as possible to boost their chances.

"We still have a realistic and good chance [of survival]," he told Bundesliga.com.

"It all depends on how quickly we can put our ideas into practice and how quickly I can get my ideas across to my players."

Hoffenheim are four points off the relegation playoff spot currently occupied by Augsburg.
