Preview: Huddersfield Town vs. Shrewsbury Town - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's League One clash between Huddersfield Town and Shrewsbury Town, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Huddersfield Town will look to maintain their 100% start to the season when they welcome Shrewsbury Town to the John Smith's Stadium for Saturday's League One contest.

Meanwhile, Shrewsbury are still waiting to get on the board after beginning their League One campaign with back-to-back defeats.

Huddersfield are competing in the third tier for the first time since 2011-12 after suffering relegation from the Championship last season.

Former Barnsley and Swansea City boss Michael Duff replaced Andre Breitenreiter over the summer, with the 46-year-old looking to guide the Terriers back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Duff has enjoyed a positive start to his Huddersfield tenure, having seen his new club kick off the campaign with three consecutive victories in all competitions.

They beat Peterborough United and Morecambe in the league and EFL Cup respectively, before they recorded a narrow 2-1 win over Stevenage last weekend thanks to goals from Josh Koroma and Ben Wiles.

Huddersfield are currently one of four teams that have taken maximum points from their first two matches in League One, and they will be determined to maintain their 100% record when they face Shrewsbury for the first time since August 2016.

Meanwhile, Shrewsbury are competing in their 10th consecutive League One season after managing to stave off relegation with a 19th-placed finish last term.

Unfortunately for the Shrews, they have experienced a disappointing start to the new campaign, having failed to win any of their four competitive matches in regulation time.

They fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Stevenage on the opening day of the season, before they claimed a penalty-shootout win over Notts County in the second round of the EFL Cup.

Shrewsbury were unable to build upon their successful EFL Cup outing, slumping to a heavy 4-0 league defeat to Peterborough United before losing 2-1 in Tuesday's EFL Trophy clash against Fulham's Under-21 side.

After shipping nine goals in their last three competitive matches, Shrewsbury will have to improve defensively if they are to trouble a Huddersfield side that has scored at least two goals in their first three matches.

Team News

Huddersfield are unable to call upon Bojan Radulovic and Radinio Balker due to groin and ankle injuries respectively.

Rhys Healey is available for selection after recovering from a knock which kept him out of the win over Stevenage.

Wiles will continue to provide a goal threat from midfield, having scored in both of Huddersfield's first two league games.

As for the visitors, they are having to cope without the services of Morgan Feeney and Josh Feeney due to hamstring issues.

Defender George Nurse is nursing a quad problem, while Carl Winchester is absent after picking up a groin injury in midweek.

With Winchester unavailable, Taylor Perry could be given the chance to make his first league start of the season.

Huddersfield Town possible starting lineup:
Nicholls; Spencer, Helik, Lees; Sorensen, Wiles, Hogg, Evans, Miller; Ward, Koroma

Shrewsbury Town possible starting lineup:

We say: Huddersfield Town 3-1 Shrewsbury Town

Huddersfield have made a promising start to the new season, and we think that they will continue to build momentum by beating a Shrewsbury side that has lost their first two matches.
