Steve Bruce rubbishes rumours Hull City are interested in Danny Welbeck

Hull City manager Steve Bruce rubbishes talk that he is interested in signing Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck and Hamburg's Rafael van der Vaart.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has rejected rumours linking the club with a move for Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.

The Tigers were rumoured to have identified the England international as a transfer target this summer.

Hamburger SV's Rafael van der Vaart has also been linked with the Premier League outfit following Shane Long's move to Southampton.

However, in this morning's press conference, Bruce has confirmed that he is not considering a move for either player, but wants to bring in "three or four" new signings.

Hull will take on newly-promoted side Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road in their Premier League opener tomorrow.
