Liverpool forward Sadio Mane declared fit for Roma match

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is confident of having Sadio Mane back available for Wednesday's meeting with Roma after being left without the forward against Stoke City.

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he expects forward Sadio Mane to be "fine" for the second leg of Liverpool's Champions League semi-final against Roma.

The Senegal international was left out of the Reds' squad for the goalless draw with Stoke City on Saturday afternoon due to a minor injury.

Having given Mane the day off for the lacklustre home draw against Stoke, Klopp is now confident that his 18-goal attacker will play a part at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday evening.

"Sadio didn't play, so he will be fine for Wednesday," he told reporters after the match."

Asked for an update on the knocks sustained by Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez, Klopp added: "Since the third minute, it wasn't perfect. I've met the docs, we will see what happens in the next two or three days. Like always after games, you have knocks here and there.

"Hendo obviously twisted his ankle but could carry on, so that's rather a good sign than a bad sign. But it's not the longest break in the world until Wednesday, so we will see.

"Joe got an early knock as well, twisted his ankle as well a little bit, we will have to see about that. Trent has a dead leg. There was contact there. He was limping from that moment on."

Klopp revealed earlier this week that Adam Lallana and Emre Can are on course to return to action before the end of the season.
