Liverpool have confirmed that new signing Oussama Assaidi is ineligible to make his Reds debut against Hearts in the Europa League this week.
Assaidi is cup tied after playing for previous club Heerenveen in previous qualifying rounds of the European competition earlier this summer.
The Moroccan winger will be allowed to play for Liverpool in the tournament's group stages if they get past Hearts over two legs.
Liverpool started their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Brendan Rodgers's side travel to Tynecastle to play Hearts in the first leg of their qualifier on Thursday, August 23.
