Luis Suarez: 'Liverpool can win the Premier League title'

Luis Suarez says that not competing in Europe can give Liverpool a boost in the Premier League title race.

Luis Suarez believes that the nature of the current Premier League campaign proves that Liverpool can win the title this season.

The Reds are third in the table and now five points adrift of Arsenal having lost 2-0 to the league leaders at the Emirates on Saturday, but Suarez feels that Liverpool's lack of participation in Europe favours them.

"The expectation is huge," Suarez told French radio station RMC.

"This season we started well, with the desire and hope. We do not have to compete in the European Cup which allows us to concentrate 100% on the championship.

"The Premier League is very tight this season and anything can happen against anyone."

Suarez, who was rumoured to be close to a move to Arsenal in the summer, has recently been linked with the Gunners once more heading towards the January transfer window.
