Manchester City looking to poach Riqui Puig from Barcelona?

Manchester City and Bayern Munich reportedly both hold an interest in Barcelona starlet Riqui Puig, who is out of contract in Catalonia next summer.

Manchester City are reportedly keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the future of Barcelona starlet Riqui Puig.

The 21-year-old was reportedly told by Ronald Koeman that he was free to leave in the summer, but Puig ended up staying in Catalonia, where he continues to struggle for game time.

Furthermore, Koeman allegedly branded Puig a "leak" after information regarding a possible transfer was made public, fuelling speculation that the midfielder could soon be heading for the exit door.

According to Todofichajes, Barcelona want Puig to pen an extension at Camp Nou - with his current deal running out in six months' time - but the Spaniard is likely to refuse the Blaugrana's offer given his lack of first-team action.

With Puig therefore set to become a free agent in the summer, the report claims that Man City and Bayern Munich are both ready to swoop for the Spain Under-21 international, who has totalled three assists in 19 games for Barcelona.

Puig has made four appearances as a substitute in all competitions this season, but Koeman is yet to hand the midfielder his first start of the campaign.
