Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has revealed that he is close to regaining full fitness after being hampered with injuries in the early stages of the season.
The England international suffered a setback from a hamstring injury during the Reds' trip to Stoke City last month.
Despite not playing since then, the 27-year-old could make his return to the field against bitter rivals Manchester United.
"I'm feeling good at the moment and I've been doing plenty of running," Johnson told the club's official website. "I've just started doing ball work outside in training so I reckon it won't be too long now.
"I'm working hard and it would be nice to be back in the squad for the Man United game. Hopefully I can make the bench anyway, so fingers crossed."
The Merseyside club will host the Premier League champions at Anfield next weekend.
