Louis van Gaal has refused to comment on the speculation linking him with the Manchester United job.
The current Netherlands boss is heavily tipped to be appointed as the Red Devils' long-term manager in the near future.
However, speaking to reporters after the Oranje's 1-1 draw with Ecuador on Saturday, in which Robin van Persie netted an "unbelievable" volley, the 62-year-old said: "I cannot say anything about that [speculation].
Van Gaal is also tipped to award the United captaincy to his star striker.
"He plays very well," he said of Van Persie. "Now he is coming from a bad injury and he scores a fantastic goal - unbelievable - and he was pressing, so I was happy with him, but he is also a good captain."
Earlier this week, Van Gaal played down rumours regarding his prospective switch to Old Trafford.
