Wayne Rooney misses Manchester United training

Centre-forward Wayne Rooney sits out Manchester United's training session with a groin injury.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was absent from training ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

The 28-year-old recently picked up a groin complaint which ruled him out of Saturday's 1-0 victory away at Norwich City.

Despite his non-participation today, manager David Moyes has insisted that he will give Rooney plenty of time to prove his fitness.

"We need to wait and see. He didn't train today so we'll assess him tomorrow and see how he is," Moyes told reporters.

The United boss also confirmed that the match has come too soon for Robin van Persie, who has been sidelined for the last month with a thigh injury.
