Deadline day key events
Man City's Khusanov intentions assessed amid "very obvious" January interest
Manchester City expert Steven McInerney from Esteemed Kompany has told Sports Mole that it is "very obvious" that Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov could complete a transfer to the Etihad Stadium in January.
The Citizens are understood to have identified the 20-year-old as a potential target this month, with Pep Guardiola keen to bolster his defensive options due to the club's injury issues in that department.
Ruben Dias, John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake have all suffered with injuries this season, and Man City have been without at least one of their four centre-back options during their torrid run of just three victories in 15 games across all competitions.
Zirkzee for who? Man United offered 'potential swap deal'
Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in a potential swap deal involving Joshua Zirkzee.
The Netherlands international has struggled to produce his best form since he completed a £35.3m move from Bologna in the summer transfer window.
Zirkzee has had to settle for just seven starts in 20 Premier League appearances, mustering just three goals during that period.
The Dutchman recently experienced a tough outing against Newcastle United at the end of December, with his premature withdrawal in the 33rd minute greeted by cheers from sections of the Man United support.
Lens chief outlines Khusanov transfer stance amid Man City, Spurs links
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have been informed by Lens chief Pierre Dreossi that they must table "good bids" if they are to stand a chance of securing the signature of promising defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
The 20-year-old is facing an uncertain future with the Ligue 1 outfit amid interest from several top clubs, with the player's agent recently admitting that his client is 'ready to play for the best clubs in Europe'.
A recent report claims that Man City are considering accelerating plans to sign Uzbekistan international Khusanov this month and have been keeping tabs on the youngster ever since he enjoyed his breakthrough season at senior level in the Belarusian top flight with Energetik-BGU.
The likes of Tottenham and Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in the centre-back, who is under contract at Lens until June 2027.
Grealish "fighting for his Man City future": Guardiola's "brutal" comments assessed
Jack Grealish is "fighting for his future" at Manchester City and Pep Guardiola's "incredibly brutal" and "really negative" comments spell trouble for the struggling attacker, Citizens expert Steven McInerney from Esteemed Kompany tells Sports Mole.
The 29-year-old has failed to make the desired impact for the Citizens this season, featuring in 14 of the club's 20 Premier League games, but starting only six times.
While Guardiola has previously insisted that Grealish should not solely be judged on how many goals or assists he records for Man City, the fact that he went through 2024 without netting a single goal in 32 appearances has left many Citizens supporters disappointed.
"It wasn't a hard decision": Man City defender completes move to "big club"
Manchester City defender Issa Kabore has joined Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on loan for the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old, who is yet to make a single senior appearance for Pep Guardiola's side since joining the club in 2020, moves to Germany following a frustrating temporary spell at Benfica which was cut short.
Kabore was limited to just two starts and five substitute appearances for Benfica across all competitions during the first half of this season, playing for only eight minutes across three substitute outings in the Primeira Liga.
The Burkina Faso international is now looking forward to representing a "big club" in the form of Werder Bremen, who confirmed their first signing of the January transfer window on Monday.
Chelsea considering adding one of two Palace stars to squad in January?
Chelsea are allegedly plotting to add a defender from Crystal Palace's squad to their own before the end of the January transfer window.
The Blues have been dealing with somewhat of a crisis in the middle of their backline of late with Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile sidelined for at least another month.
Although there have been mixed claims regarding the severity of Fofana's hamstring injury, Chelsea are down to three senior centre-backs for a number of weeks.
Academy graduate Josh Acheampong deputised there against Palace on Saturday, impressing on his first-ever Premier League start in a 1-1 draw.
"This is what I can confirm": Chiesa agent responds to Liverpool exit rumours
The agent of Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa has played down suggestions that he could depart Anfield in January.
Liverpool paid in the region of £12m to sign the Italy international from Juventus during the summer transfer window in a deal regarded as a significant coup.
However, Chiesa has been restricted to just 123 minutes of action spread across four appearances, just one of which has come in the Premier League.
As a result, the 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A before the end of the month in an effort to kick-start his career.
European giants to 'test the waters' with Olmo bid amid Arsenal interest
AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Dani Olmo during the January transfer window.
The Euro 2024 winner recently made the high-profile switch from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig to the Spanish giants over the summer window.
However, Olmo's Barca future has been thrown into serious doubt, with the Catalan club currently failing to register the attacker for the second half of the campaign.
The Spaniard made an excellent start to life at Camp Nou, scoring five goals across 11 La Liga appearances as Hansi Flick's side chase the title.
Bundesliga switch: Chelsea star wanted by three elite clubs this month?
Chelsea defender Renato Veiga has reportedly attracted interest from Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart.
The 21-year-old is said to have gained plenty of admirers across Europe so far this season, with Juventus and Napoli also linked with the player.
Veiga made the switch from Swiss giants Basel to Stamford Bridge for £12m over the summer, looking to take the next step in his professional career.
The defender's minutes in the Premier League have been limited as he competes with a bloated squad in West London, starting just the one top-flight match.
The 40% man: Liverpool confirm first transfer of January window
Liverpool have confirmed that 22-year-old goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga has left the club to rejoin Brazilian outfit Fluminense on a permanent deal.
The 2002-born shot-stopper came through the Fluminense youth system before joining Liverpool in a €750k (£623k) deal in 2020, quickly becoming a regular for the Reds' Under-21s.
Pitaluga made the bench on a handful of occasions for the first team - most recently their 2-1 Europa League loss to Union SG in December 2023 - but he never made a senior appearance for the Merseyside giants.
The 22-year-old was loaned out three times to Macclesfield Town, St Pat's and Livingston, joining the Scottish side in the summer transfer window, but he only made two appearances for the Lions.
Agent Amorim: Man United to battle Man City for Braga star?
Manchester United are reportedly set to battle Manchester City for defender Sikou Niakate of Braga.
The 25-year-old has made an impressive start to the first half of the 2024-25 campaign for the Portuguese side in the highly-rated Primeira Liga.
Niakate has featured on 14 occasions for Braga in the league, scoring once and providing one assist for a teammate from a centre-back position.
Since making the permanent switch from French outfit Metz to Portugal during the summer of 2023, the centre-back has played 57 games, scoring five times.
Villa 'start talks' in bid to sign former Barcelona defender
Aston Villa have reportedly identified a former Barcelona defender as a desired transfer target for the January window.
Sitting just four points adrift of the top four in the Premier League table, Unai Emery can be satisfied with Villa's first half of the campaign when also negotiating a Champions League schedule.
However, as well as conceding 32 goals during 20 top-flight fixtures, Villa have recently suffered a major injury blow at the back.
Pau Torres is in line to miss two months of action with a broken metatarsal, putting a strain on a Villa backline when Unai Emery has not necessarily been in a rush to use Tyrone Mings after a serious knee injury.
"Clearly" - Rodgers breaks silence on Tierney transfer links
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has remained tight-lipped on rumours that Arsenal's Kieran Tierney could rejoin the club in the January transfer window.
The Scottish Premiership champions are believed to have held talks over re-signing the left-back in January, as Tierney has now entered the last six months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The 27-year-old rose to prominence during his time at Parkhead, where he provided eight goals and 37 assists in 170 matches for Celtic and won five Scottish Premiership titles before joining Arsenal in a £25m deal in 2019.
Tierney immediately became a fans' favourite in North London, but his Arsenal career has been blighted by injuries, and the Gunners are apparently happy to let him leave on a free transfer this summer.
Liverpool 'set Nunez asking price' amid transfer interest
Liverpool have reportedly determined the valuation of Darwin Nunez amid alleged interest in his signature.
When arriving from Benfica in the summer of 2022, Nunez was sold in a deal that could potentially rise to £85m if all add-ons are activated.
Despite contributing 37 goals and 20 assists from his 120 appearances in all competitions, there is an argument that Liverpool may soon be in need of an upgrade on the Uruguay international.
Just four goals and three assists have come since the appointment of Arne Slot, the 25-year-old effectively third choice between Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota at the present time.
Out-of-favour Chelsea duo attracting transfer interest from London rivals?
Two of Chelsea's fringe players have allegedly emerged as potential targets for one of their London rivals.
As has been anticipated for months, the Blues are currently open to offers for several of their players who have either barely featured under Enzo Maresca or only appeared in cup competitions.
On Sunday, it was reported that Cesare Casadei could be the first out of the door if Chelsea are able to agree a fee with an Italian club over the coming days.
A team also needs to be found for Ben Chilwell, who has not featured since a 45-minute outing versus Barrow in a September EFL Cup tie.
