David Alaba 'prefers Arsenal transfer over Manchester United switch'

David Alaba would reportedly prefer to move to Arsenal rather than Manchester United if he were to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Arsenal have reportedly emerged as David Alaba's preferred destination should he ever leave Bayern Munich for the Premier League.

Last weekend, it was claimed that Manchester United were considering a move for the utility player should Bayern make him available for an exit from the Allianz Arena in the summer.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Alaba would favour a move to Arsenal after supporting the Gunners during his childhood.

The Austrian international is tied to Bayern until 2021 but a number of below-par performances for both club and country has led to suggestions that the German champions may let the 24-year-old leave in the future.

Alaba has made 205 appearances for Bayern in all competitions.
