Real Madrid are reportedly about to end their interest in Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as they are unwilling to meet his asking price.
Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane has talked up a move for his French compatriot, who has admitted that he is seeking a move away from Old Trafford.
United are refusing to budge on their hefty valuation, however, which is believed to be in the region of £161m.
Reports in Spain suggest that Zidane is the only person with power at the Bernabeu that believes in Pogba and he is facing too big a battle to persuade his bosses to make an offer.
Pogba, named in last season's PFA Premier League Team of the Year, is currently part of United's pre-season tour of Australia and Asia.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed on Wednesday that United have yet to receive any bids for the World Cup winner.
