Real Madrid are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign Jude Bellingham this summer, according to a report.

Real Madrid are reportedly on the verge of reaching an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign English midfielder Jude Bellingham during this summer's transfer window.

The 19-year-old has been in impressive form for Dortmund during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 11 goals and registering seven assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

Meanwhile, the midfielder has represented BVB on 130 occasions since his arrival from Birmingham City in the summer of 2020, scoring 21 goals and contributing 25 assists.

Bellingham has another two years left to run on his contract with the German giants, but there has been ongoing speculation surrounding his future over the last few months.

At one stage, Liverpool were thought to lead the race for the teenager, while Manchester City and Manchester United have also been heavily linked with one of the most in-demand players in world football.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are now closing in on an agreement with Dortmund over a deal for the Englishman.

Romano claims that personal terms 'are almost agreed', with Los Blancos' chief scout Juni Calafat playing a leading role in the capital giants winning the race for his signature.

According to Marca, Bellingham will sign a contract with the reigning Spanish and European champions until the end of the 2028-29 campaign.

The report claims that Real Madrid are expected to pay a fee of around €100m (£88.3m) for the midfielder, but the deal could eventually reach €120m (£105.9m) with various add-ons.

Bellingham has scored five goals and registered five assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances this season, with Dortmund currently second in the table, one point behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid are currently well-stocked in central midfield, with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric both expected to sign new one-year contracts at Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde are seen as vital players for the club both now and in the future.

Bellingham's expected arrival could lead to Dani Ceballos moving on, though, with the Spaniard only having a contract with Carlo Ancelotti's side until the end of June.

Journalist Santi Aouna claims that Man City offered the youngster a better financial package to return to English football this summer, but the midfielder has chosen a move to Spain and has already been in contact with some of his potential new teammates at Bernabeu.
