The Southampton board will make the final decision on whether or not Luke Shaw is sold in the summer, according to manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Chairman Ralph Krueger recently rejected claims that the club needs to sell its star players, despite debts of around £57m.
Shaw has been linked with a £30m move away, with Manchester United seemingly in pole position, but the decision will only be made by the Saints hierarchy.
"At the end of the day, Luke Shaw is a player that belongs to Southampton," Pochettino told reporters. "And it will be the club, Southampton, that makes the decision as to what happens with his future.
"There are a lot of players who are under interest at Southampton but they are all very happy at the football club, and most of them are under long-term contracts.
"If there is any decision to be made, it is for the owners, not for me."
Southampton's next game is against Aston Villa on Saturday.
