Saul is a key player under Atletico boss Diego Simeone, and the midfielder has a contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until the summer of 2026, which includes a release clause of £134m.
However, according to OK Diario, United are prepared to pay the buy-out figure in order to open contract talks with the midfielder, but the same report claims that Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are also in the hunt.
United have also been linked with a move for Saul's club teammate Lucas Hernandez, who has a £72m release clause in his contract with the Madrid giants.
