Saturday's Ligue 1 predictions including Marseille vs. Lille

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Marseille vs. Lille.

The final Ligue 1 game at the Stade Velodrome in 2024 will see Marseille host Lille on Saturday evening.

Both clubs sit in the top four heading into the weekend, in what is undoubtedly the pick of the games in the French top flight.

We say: Marseille 1-1 Lille

Marseille's home record is extremely unconvincing, but their win over Monaco in their last outing at the Velodrome suggests a corner may have been turned following some minor turmoil last month.

Lille will want to ensure they go into 2025 with their unbeaten streak still intact, but this will be one of the toughest challenges they have faced domestically this season, and could be happy to leave with a draw.

Auxerre vs. Lens (Saturday, 6.00pm)

Newly-promoted Auxerre will look to continue their phenomenal start to the Ligue 1 season when they face Lens in the final matchday of 2024 on Saturday.

The hosts held champions Paris Saint-Germain here at the Stade de l'Abbe Deschamps last weekend, extending an incredible run of form on home soil this year.

We say: Auxerre 1-1 Lens

It may have been a while since Lens' peculiar drawing streak, but this is a very tough game to call on paper, with little to separate the sides in the table, and the hosts enjoying a superb run of form at home.

Four games without a win in this fixture suggests it will be far from easy for the hosts to maintain that incredible home record across 2024, but they are more than capable of getting a result.

Reims vs. Monaco (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Monaco return to domestic action with a trip to the Stade Auguste-Delaune to face mid-table Reims in Ligue 1 on Saturday night.

Adi Hutter's men were beaten resoundingly by Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday, and this will be a quick turnaround for their penultimate league game of 2024.

We say: Reims 0-2 Monaco

Despite three defeats in four games, Monaco have still shown plenty of positive signs, threatening Arsenal more than once in midweek, and taking the lead against Marseille and Benfica, so against weaker opposition, they may have more joy this weekend.

Reims have been uninspiring of late, with no goals in their last two and a 2-0 defeat to Lens in their last home encounter, suggesting they may drop out of the top half heading into 2025.
