Former Stuttgart manager Bruno Labbadia has reportedly been contacted by Newcastle United regarding their head coach vacancy.
The Magpies are looking to replace Alan Pardew, who left St James' Park to become Crystal Palace boss a fortnight ago.
Reports stated that former Lyon coach Remi Garde held talks with Newcastle over the weekend, but it is thought that he would rather complete his sabbatical before taking charge in the summer.
Labbadia has been out of work for almost 18 months since leaving Stuttgart in August 2013.
According to The Mirror, Newcastle have contacted the German twice to discuss the manager's job.
Labbadia has also managed Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen during his 11-year coaching career.
