Rafael Benitez: Newcastle United "will fight until the end"

Rafael Benitez tells his Newcastle United players to "believe" in themselves as they prepare for another vital match in their push for survival against Liverpool.

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has insisted that he is confident his side will continue to give their all in order to secure Premier League safety.

The Magpies have picked up four points from the last six on offer, following a previous run of one point from 12 upon the Spaniard's arrival.

After seeing United find some momentum of sorts, Benitez has now called for his players to show more belief over the final few weeks of the season to close the two-point gap on Norwich City.

"We have to believe," The Mirror quotes him as saying ahead of this weekend's trip to Anfield. "I am not just happy with two good games.

"We have to fight until the end. Everything people say about Liverpool I already know first hand. The atmosphere with the Geordies and Scousers will be electric."

Benitez is expected to receive a warm reception on his return to former side Liverpool, having spent six years on Merseyside prior to his departure in 2010.
