Northampton Town have confirmed that Andy King will be in temporary charge of the side after the sacking of Aidy Boothroyd.
Boothroyd's two-year stint as manager of the Cobblers was ended yesterday following a 4-1 home defeat to Wycombe Wanderers that put the club at the bottom of the Football League.
In a statement, the Cobblers said on Sunday night that Boothroyd's assistant King, along with Tim Flowers, would manage the side "until further notice".
Martin Allen has been installed as the early favourite with the bookmakers to replace Boothroyd at Sixfields.
