Northampton Town part ways with manager Aidy Boothroyd

Northampton Town sack Aidy Boothroyd as the first-team manager.

Northampton Town have parted company with manager Aidy Boothroyd.

The decision was made on Saturday following the Cobblers' 4-1 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers at home in League Two.

"Aidy Boothroyd has left Northampton Town Football Club," read a statement on the team's official website.

"The decision was made by chairman David Cardoza after Saturday's loss to Wycombe Wanderers.

"The club will make no further comment at this time, but will provide a further update on Monday."

Northampton are currently at the foot of the table with 18 points from 21 matches.
